Nike Better World, a nicely designed microsite with information on how Nike are supposedly transforming the world for the better. It uses the trendy HTML ‘paralax scrolling’ effect, but it isn’t overdone here, and combined with the impressive photographic shots and clean, effective typography, creates a great overall package. The ‘pixel counter’ in the footer of the page is a nice touch too.

CMYK Dunks

Well, I made those CMYK trainers I mentioned in another post. Was recommended a different template, created by pig mag, which can be found here along with templates for other Nike shoes.

CMYK Dunks

Pretty cool tool to mess around with. Opens up a blank template in Photoshop and lets you create pretty much whatever style you want by using the fill function on each layer, so it offers unlimited options compared to the limited Nike iD creation tool. Obviously you can’t directly buy your creations, but it’s addictive anyway.

Nike ID Trainers

Came out with these after messing about with the intuitive Nike ID trainer customisation tool:

Might make a pair with some sort of CMYK colourway next. Now if only I had the money to actually buy a pair…

PUMA City

Shipping container conversions are nothing new, but this is just a brilliantly accomplished idea. Great marketing/advertising for the PUMA brand and lots of potential brought about by the mobility of the store. The fact that architecture and modularity have been brought down to their most basic and functional levels with this project shows that modern buildings need not be overly complex or ‘gimmicky’ to be effective.

“Our green friends over Inhabitat just tipped us on a  new project by NYC/Napoli based office LOT-EK, a practice that has been doing an interesting job by reusing containers.

24 containers are put together to create a 3 storey store with over 11,000 sqf, including a bar/lounge area and 2 decks.”
